The TDK InvenSense ICM-20948 is a compact, high-performance 9-DoF IMU integrating a 3-axis accelerometer, 3-axis gyroscope, and 3-axis magnetometer (AK09916). It provides low-noise, high-accuracy orientation data, making it ideal for precise drone navigation. The ICM-20948 features a digital motion processor for efficient sensor fusion and supports I2C or SPI interfaces, with robust performance in challenging environments. Its small footprint and low power consumption make it perfect for UAVs where efficiency and precision are critical. The ICM-20948 is fully supported in the latest versions of ArduPilot (4.5 and later), ensuring compatibility with modern open-source autopilot systems.
Paired with the u-blox NEO-M9N GNSS Module, this solution provides robust GNSS positioning with support for multiple satellite systems (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou) and SBAS differential corrections (WAAS, EGNOS). The NEO-M9N offers high sensitivity, fast time-to-first-fix, and reliable performance in areas with limited satellite visibility, such as urban canyons. Its high update rate of up to 25 Hz ensures real-time tracking, making it perfect for dynamic UAV applications. Manufactured in the USA, this module meets stringent quality standards for defense and commercial use.
