Tactical Systems is proud to offer our upgraded GNSS and Magnetometer module for drones, combining advanced U.S.-made components for high accuracy, reliability, and full compliance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Designed for seamless integration with popular drone autopilots, this module delivers secure navigation for commercial and defense applications.

Seamless "Drop-In" Integration

This upgraded unit is a direct, drop-in replacement for the original Aegis GNSS. It maintains the exact same physical footprint and utilizes the same connector, requiring no changes to your existing wiring or mounting hardware for a seamless transition.

Precision IMU & Magnetic Sensing

While previous versions utilized the now-discontinued ICM-20948, we have transitioned this module to the Bosch BMI270 6-Axis IMU and the PNI RM3100 Magnetometer.

Supply Chain Resilience: These specific sensors were strategically selected to account for the widespread electronic component shortages of early 2026. By choosing the BMI270, we ensure consistent manufacturing lead times and immediate availability without compromising on the professional-grade performance our customers expect.

  • Bosch BMI270 IMU: Chosen for its exceptional availability and proven performance in modern ArduPilot and PX4 ecosystems, the BMI270 provides ultra-low noise and high-stability accelerometer and gyroscope data. Its automotive-proven technology ensures reliable flight dynamics and attitude estimation even in challenging environments.

  • PNI RM3100 Magnetometer: This represents a massive leap in heading accuracy. Unlike standard Hall-effect sensors found in integrated IMUs, the RM3100 uses proprietary magneto-inductive technology. This provides over 10x better resolution and significantly lower noise, allowing your UAV to maintain a stable heading even in environments with high electromagnetic interference. By moving away from the multi-purpose ICM-20948 to the purpose-built RM3100, we’ve eliminated magnetic drift and "toilet-bowling" effects.

Robust GNSS Positioning

Paired with the u-blox NEO-M9N GNSS Module, this solution provides robust positioning with support for four concurrent satellite systems (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou) and SBAS differential corrections (WAAS, EGNOS). The NEO-M9N offers high sensitivity, fast time-to-first-fix, and a high update rate of up to 25 Hz, ensuring real-time tracking for dynamic UAV applications.
